About Us

Message From Our Executive Director

At PHARP-Rwanda (Peace Building, Healing, and Reconciliation Programme in Rwanda), we believe that lasting peace is built where healing, dignity, and opportunity meet. As we conclude 2025, a season marked by the celebration of Christmas, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to you as our partners and friends for your unwavering support and prayers. It is my sincere wish that you continue to enjoy the true meaning of Christmas: hope, love, and reconciliation, values that guide our mission.

Through your partnership, PHARP-Rwanda strengthened peacebuilding and reconciliation efforts, supported trauma healing, provided community health insurance to vulnerable families, and extended educational support to children in need. We also empowered youth and young mothers through vocational skills training and Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), helping families rebuild their lives with dignity and resilience.

Your generosity has made these transformations possible. Yet, the need remains great. I warmly invite you to continue walking with us through prayer, partnership, and resource support as we deepen our impact and reach more communities. As we step into 2026, I wish you a joyous and blessed New Year, filled with peace, good health, and renewed purpose. Together, let us continue building a reconciled and hopeful Rwanda.

With gratitude and hope,

Peace building, Healing and Reconciliation Programme (PHARP-Rwanda) is a non-profit organization involved in peace building, healing and reconciliation in Rwanda. It started in 1998 with a focus of creating spaces of dialogue and healing among   Rwandans and promotes capacity building of individuals and local communities in the framework of empowering them psychologically, socially and economically.

People share experiences for the creation of new understanding and the transformation of attitudes in order to restore relationships which were lost during 1994 Genocide perpetrated against Tutsis. It encourages initiatives to form VSLAs (Village Saving and Loan Associations) for local mutual assistance and working together for peace, trauma healing, reconciliation and development.

PHARP-Rwanda’s most activities target mainly, genocide survivors, released prisoners, women, single mothers, community leaders, religious leaders, children, youth, refugees and people with disabilities.

PHARP provides trainings for the community leaders and religious leaders on the topics of conflict transformation, trauma counselling, healing, peace building, awareness on Gender based violence and legal rights, reconciliation, leadership, HIV/AIDS prevention, development of small income generating projects and the formation of associations, cooperatives and self-help groups. With small financial means, PHARP has done a significant work that positively impacted many lives of people, especially those living in remote areas that need to be reached.
